GameDevHQ - About Us
We use game development as a gateway to a career in software engineering.
At GameDevHQ, we work to change our student’s lives by transforming them into career-ready Unity Developers. We’re not your typical coding bootcamp – our innovative program allows students to progress at their own pace, while getting results fast.
GameDevHQ was founded by Jonathan Weinberger who has trained software engineers using Unity since 2010. Our curriculum has been sought after by numerous educational and corporate institutions. Students who successfully complete our program have been employed by some of the largest employers on the planet.
Our system is focused on student mastery of C# and Unity, one of the fastest growing tech stacks on the market, supported and maintained by Microsoft. Students learn to create realtime 2D & 3D applications with confidence and adaptability, molding them into desirable and knowledgeable software engineers.

The Professional Unity DevelopersProgram
GameDevHQ has spent years perfecting a program that is unique compared to any other school or bootcamp – a program that creates workforce-ready developers that are capable of creating content both in and beyond gaming using Unity.
Our learning track begins with the Introduction to Game Development. We start with fundamentals of Unity and C# and within as little as a week, a student will have built a complete Unity application that is deployable and playable. By the end of the program, they will be tasked to build a game within 5 days and our students have achieved a 100% success rate.
Our students DO NOT watch videos of someone building a game for them. They are introduced to the subject matter, challenged with developing a specific component or system, and then watch a review session that explains how they could have tackled the challenge. These are not spoonfed tutorials but rather thought-provoking projects that put the student into the seat of a game developer. By the time a student completes the program, they will be an experienced developer who has worked in 2D, 2.5D, 3D, mobile applications, enterprise applications, and Augmented Reality.
We employ qualified engineers that will provide online support to students to help them complete the curriculum. We provide multiple options from email, a dedicated online forum that is monitored 24 hours a day, and virtual one-on-one meetings with coaches that can be reserved based on your availability.

Employers Info
Our system has the ability to track the analytics of all of our student progression. We can determine if a student is currently on track, is progressing faster than predicted, or has fallen behind. If a student begins to miss check-ins, doesn’t progress through the curriculum, or runs into barriers, we will reach out and try to remotivate them through the program. If this program is being offered by a corporation for internal training, we also offer progress tracking to company representatives so they can verify their employee is maintaining progress.

Inclusion & Diversity
GameDevHQ is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive training program and community. We endeavor to build training that works for everyone by including perspectives from backgrounds that vary by race, ethnicity, social background, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, and national origin.
We aim to create a workplace that celebrates the diversity of our employees and students. We purposefully seek out ways to elevate, support and celebrate underrepresented groups.
GameDevHQ does not discriminate in recruiting, hiring, or promotion based on race, ethnicity, sex/gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, or protected veteran status or on any other basis or characteristic prohibited by applicable federal, state, or local law.
