What were your biggest challenges before GameDevHQ?

I have pursued a few careers in my life, from accounting, finance. I studied tourism, and then I became a sound engineer, video editor, director, and content maker. Now I am doing an internship as a VR developer.

I first did an eight week intensive program with another institution. After those eight weeks, I could not do anything. I spent those eight weeks just trying to copy code, and I did not understand anything.

What results did you see after signing up with GameDevHQ?

I started doing a few of the problems that accompany the lessons. In four weeks, I was able to make a simple prototype that I could pitch to a client, and it was accepted!

They do not just teach you to code, they also teach you how to make a career by helping you build contacts and sell yourself to potential employers.

What is unique about GameDevHQ’s support system?

The community is also a big part of GameDevHQ. They put pressure on you and make you accountable, and do not allow you to fail. This is all done in a firm but nice way.

Everyone helps and supports each other, which means that you do not feel alone. By seeing the success of other people, you also get motivated.

The team at GameDevHQ know the right path to establishing a career in game development and help you along that path.

What makes GameDevHQ better than free resources?

What separates this from other paid and free resources is that they know exactly what they are doing. When you follow the program, it all makes sense and you progress in the right way.

It also comes down to the order in which they teach you. You begin building your skills and knowledge from basic principles and before you know it, you have a strong understanding.

Is GameDevHQ worth the investment?

I definitely think that GameDevHQ is worth the investment. It is amazing what you get there for the price. If you compare the price they ask to what you get, it is amazing.

Sometimes I wonder how it is possible to get so much dedication from the mentors. GameDevHQ is a community for life.

Who would you recommend GameDevHQ to?

I would recommend GameDevHQ to anyone who would like to learn Unity. I came to them to learn about VR content which they are also great for. If you want to program, to learn, and to understand, this place is the best.
